Letter: Is it a walleye a pickerel or a sauger?

To the editor:

I know this subject is contentious.....but here in Canada we don't have any pickerel, period!

We have walleye and sauger.

I defy you to find any true Canadian fishing magazines or articles or fishing shows that call a walleye a pickerel.

A pickerel is a grass pike, and it's related and looks like a northern pike but smaller and more green.

A walleye isn't related at all to a pickerel.

So, let's please be true Canadians and call it what it is....a walleye!
