To the Editor,
As Co-Founder of Truckers for Safer Highways, I’m writing to remind your readers of the incredible power they hold in their hands: the power to vote. Voting is more than a right—it’s a responsibility, a chance to shape the future of our communities, our highways, and our nation. It’s how we turn our hopes for a better tomorrow into action.
Every day, we hear people express frustration about issues influenced by government decisions—yet too often, those same voices stay silent on voting day. Change doesn’t happen by chance; it happens when we show up, speak up, and cast our ballots. Your vote is your voice, and it matters.
This year, as you head to the polls, Truckers for Safer Highways asks you to think about highway safety.
Consider the importance of stronger enforcement of traffic laws for current drivers and better training and licensing standards for new drivers. These steps aren’t just policies—they’re lifesaving measures. They ensure accountability on our roads and equip new drivers with the skills to navigate safely. By voting with these issues in mind, you’re helping to protect families, save lives, and build a safer future for everyone.
Voting is a privilege many around the world can only dream of. Let’s not take it for granted. When you cast your ballot, you honour those who fought for this freedom and take a stand for the kind of world you want to see.
So, whether you vote early or on February 27th, make your voice heard. Together, we can drive change, create safer highways, and build a brighter future for all. Let’s show up, step up, and make every vote count.
