So much bs from members at times, I felt the need to join.
Canadian governments have always given utterance that New York State would have to eliminate daylight savings before they would.

I too enjoy what the US has to offer. While the eastern part of the country has so much to offer, I also love the west coast. Washington State and Oregon are beautiful drives offering a much different landscape than their northern cousin. Don't get me wrong, BC and Alberta are absolutely stunning The States offer more to do in such short drives.
I too love going to NFL games in Buffalo, New York and Washington.
I gave this a lot of thought and think I'll be renting a car from the US to travel anywhere. That license plate from New York State or Washington State will be worth its price in gold. It's simply to avoid any sort of confrontation.
It's pathetic what Orange Juice managed to destroy in several weeks that has been longstanding several centuries of relations with America. Pathetic.

Funds.

Bottom line is that Canada does not have the population to pay for how big this country is to wire up for internet. Those who are without high speed internet either in rural or northern Canada do not add up to enough people to pay for it. We're talking in the billions range to get Fibre to all those folks.
While I agree with the talk of keeping money in Canada by buying Canadian, there are examples throughout the dollars reach that foreign corporations operate in because of their size that are in a large population density where more opportunities exist. High speed internet is one of these ventures that a man like Elon Musk can afford because his finances encompass the world through various corporate ventures. He makes more and has more money than Canada does to put in perspective.
Canadian telecommunications industry simply do not have the funds to make moves that would wire all Canadians. We lost that fight. It's time to admit it. Starlink is it.

Can we now call Trudeau Junior the worst Prime Minister Canada has ever had?
28 8 3
Bottom line is that Trudeau's reputation was weak amongst Canadians and the loss of an election was practically guaranteed. The Liberal party was in a position of a severe lambasting in the next election with the possibility of losing official party status.
The switch to Mark Carney gives the party a new look. This had been planned sometime ago. While who would be the party's new face was not known officially, the members of the party an idea had been formed.
Now, with the new face leading the party, the Liberals are trying to look strong with the US Canadian trade war. It was a brilliant move on the behalf of the Liberal Party. With Trudeau gone, Liberal Party hopes we will forget the years of pathetic reign by the former Prime Minister and vote Liberal once more.
April 1st, 2025 brings with it part two of the Carbon tax. It will be very interesting what the party does on that day. Will it go through? I say no, the Liberal party try to save face and cancel the tax V2.0

They own the store. Why would any government reimburse themselves?

Common moderator......that was a great tongue and cheek reply to this nonsensical letter she wrote you all. Worried about getting a few extra speeding tickets Mr Moderator. Whatever your rational, it makes no sense.

Where were you when it came to actual costs to the city regarding the repairs to Memorial Gardens Arena?
Ok, well, you were likely not in office yet as you would have been placed after the last election.
Having said all that, this post is now geared more towards the mayor at this point. Mr. Mayor, since we've found an honest politician it seems by this letter and the history this city has had with arenas, I would kindly ask that you assign Ms. Horsfield to a new post. That post you ask? A post that requires access to the media regarding the costs of this new arena being built on Lakeshore.
Based on Ms. Horsfield's letter about the quoted word, one would think that decimal points regarding actual factual costs of this arena will be quoted to the media. Unless she is lied to by those handing that particular days' talley, the city of North Bay will sleep better knowing there is one honest, factually correct politician working the beat and giving us the true costs of this new arena.

In the years to come, electricity will be insanely expensive. The Ford government has been paying for Hydro increases since taking office. The Whynn government privatized Ontario Hydro. The increases are significant. The Liberals made a bloody mess of everything else but Hydro will be a mistake that taxpayers will pay for a long time to come. Now is the time to seriously look into solar. It will pay itself off extremely fast at what the Hydro rates will eventually be at. Don't say I didn't warn you.
