Editor's note: Ms. Gagne refers to the BayToday story Spring forward tonight. Daylight Saving Time opponents hit a brick wall.

To the editor:
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to bring attention to an issue that affects the well-being of individuals and communities across Canada: the biannual clock changes associated with Daylight Saving Time (DST).
The disruption caused by these time changes has been shown to negatively impact the public health, productivity, and even safety.
Adopting a consistent time policy, preferably permanent Standard Time, could alleviate these challenges. It would ensure better alignment with our natural circadian rhythms, improve sleep health, and provide a more stable framework for our daily lives.
Numerous studies and experts, including organizations such as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, support the move to permanent Standard Time due to its evidence-based benefits.
I urge you to consider adding your voice to this important cause and advocating for meaningful change.
Together, we can make a difference for countless Canadians.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Monica Gagne
