LETTER: Fly the flag this Canada Day

While I respect everyone’s right to their opinion and to protest things they disagree with, I have to say that I have been disheartened by the recent use of our beautiful flag to represent a minority opinion, and not representative of our great nation

To the editor:

As we approach Canada Day, I am asking my fellow Canadians to “Fly the Flag.”

I am a proud Canadian and treasure the democracy that I have been privileged to grow up in, raise my family in, and to share now with my grandchildren.

The Canadian Flag has long been our symbol of a peaceful nation to the rest of the world. I'm thrilled to hear a cheering crowd for our Canadian Athletes in competition in all sports as they represent us on the international stage.

While I respect everyone’s right to their opinion and to protest things they disagree with, I have to say that I have been disheartened by the recent use of our beautiful flag to represent a minority opinion, and not representative of our great nation.

With the approaching Canada Day celebrations and the Summer Olympics on the horizon, I am urging all Canadians to “Fly the Flag” so that it can once again represent all Canadians and this beautiful democratic country we all can be very proud to live in! Let's get them up for Canada Day and through the Olympic experience!

Thank you!
