With WestPoint Village, a new development just over a year away from breaking ground, Bay Builders is taking an innovative approach—they’re inviting future residents to shape the vision.
As homeowners face soaring housing costs, many are exploring new avenues to homeownership—whether it's finding affordable entry points into the market or selling their current homes to free up equity for retirement. This is where WestPoint Village comes into play.
WestPoint Village is a community-driven development designed to offer a variety of housing options tailored to the needs of residents. This project has the potential to sell or rent condos in a building, or townhouses with or without a secondary dwelling. WestPoint Village’s goal is to provide flexible living arrangements that accommodate different lifestyles and situations.
Bay Builders aim to address the diverse housing needs of the community. But here’s the catch: the vision isn’t set in stone. The driving force behind this project is simple: building better communities for today and tomorrow. "Before we design and build our homes, we need to understand our client’s needs," Joe says. Therefore, the land is currently a blank slate, and Bay Builders wants future homeowners to fill in the details.
To achieve this, Bay Builders has launched an online survey giving residents the power to shape their ideal community. In just five minutes, respondents can share their preferences on what’s important to them; from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to accessibility measures required, garage space, storage, green space and snow removal.
“We have a vision of a beautiful neighborhood that encourages a divers and active community, but we need your input to shape it the right way," Sophie says. Once the survey responses are in, Bay Builders’ team will use them to refine the WestPoint Village plan, ensuring it meets the community's needs.
