I just left the Bay Block Party, it’s going strong!
1000’s of people have been brought to North Bay’s Main Street for fun, music, drinks, and shopping. The new Main Street is looking fantastic!
I’m absolutely flabbergasted by some of our downtown merchants though.
The new ones (some of them) have gone all out - displays on the sidewalks, sales, and very welcoming when you enter the stores. Yet the ones who have been there for some time, the ones who repeatedly complain, the ones who keep saying the city needs to do more to draw people to Main Street…they haven’t even bothered to open their doors!
I could not believe how many of them stayed closed on a day that was bound to bring so many customers in.
One of the new merchants who we visited I even overheard complained to their staff that they only had to hold in for another couple of hours! Do you want the business or not Main Street?!?
Congratulations to the people who organized a great Block Party and the new merchants who were so welcoming to all the people who came to see your stores!
