West Nipissing man charged with break and enter

Police arrested and charged one person with break and enter after conducting a traffic stop.

On December 19 at 4 a.m., Nipissing West OPP were on general patrol and conducted a traffic stop with a parked vehicle on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The vehicle was parked near a storage area, where police obtained evidence of a break-and-enter that occurred that evening.

Dwayne Lanktree, 38, from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Three counts of break, enter a place to commit an indictable offence
  • Three counts of mischief under $ 5,000
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine

Lanktree was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 6, 2025, in North Bay.
