OPP closed roads near Mattawa for search warrant. All now open

The North Bay OPP says all rods closed after a police action early this morning near Mattawa are now open.

A search warrant was executed near the intersection of Richards Road and Chenier Road in Papineau-Cameron Township.

Yesterday evening, officers responded to a call in that area.

OPP specialized units, including the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Crisis Negotiators, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Critical Incident Command, executed a warrant at approximately 6:30 this morning.

The police presence has since cleared, and all roads have reopened.

The investigation is ongoing, and there are no concerns for public safety at this time. OPP promises further updates will be shared as information becomes available.
