Prisoner gets pissed off. Pees on jailhouse floor

OPP officers in East Algoma have arrested a man they call "possibly intoxicated" they found falling in the snow.

On February 5 at10:30 p.m., police responded to a report regarding a "suspicious individual, possibly intoxicated," who was seen standing in a driveway in Blind River.

Upon arrival, police saw a man walking on the sidewalk without shoes and exhibiting "clear signs of intoxication." He was arrested and taken to the Blind River detachment, where it was planned he would be lodged until sober.

"While in custody, the accused became increasingly agitated and verbally abusive towards officers," says Constable Bev Gauthier. "The situation escalated when the individual began splashing toilet water in the cell area and at one point, the accused urinated through the bars of the cell onto the floor."

Gerry Dickenson, 20, from Blind River is charged with:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Being intoxicated in a public place

Dickenson is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on March 6.
