Lakes Nipissing and Nosbonsing target of weekend OPP checks

The Ontario Provincial Police was out on Lake Nipissing and Lake Nosbonsing this past weekend.

On March 8 members of the North Bay OPP and the OPP Snow Vehicle, All Terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement/Education (SAVE) patrolled Lake Nipissing which resulted in 350 contacts with the public. The OPP issued a total of 30 charges and warnings.

On March 9 members of the North Bay OPP and OPP SAVE patrolled Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) Trail D, Lake Nosbonsing, Trout Lake, OFSC Trail A/D and Tilden Lake which resulted in over 100 contacts. The OPP issued a total of 25 charges and warnings.

The OPP reminds snowmobile enthusiasts to obey speed limits, stay on the marked trails and drive sober.
