Police ERT training exercise at local hospital Friday morning

NBPS says the training will not result in the closure of any streets or the disruption of daily activities for members of the public in the area

The North Bay Police Service is advising the public about an increased police presence at the North Bay Regional Health Centre today [Friday, Nov. 17] as its members will be conducting a training exercise.

Members of the public should not be alarmed if they see increased police activity in the area of the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team will be conducting a training exercise at the NBRHC in partnership with Health Centre staff.

Police will maintain an increased presence in the area from approximately 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The training will not result in the closure of any streets or the disruption of daily activities for members of the public in the area. Residents can continue to access health care services at the NBRHC as they normally would.

The North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations. Members of the North Bay Police Service’s ERT receive regular training to effectively respond to all manner of high-risk incidents.
