North Bay man charged with child sexual assault

Police started an investigation after receiving reports that a man sexually assaulted a victim, who is a minor, in December 2021 and in February 2022

The North Bay Police Service has charged a 26-year-old North Bay man with child sexual assault and distributing drugs to minors.

Police started an investigation after receiving reports that a man sexually assaulted a victim, who is a minor, in December 2021 and in February 2022.

As part of the investigation, police received reports that the man also provided a substance believed to be marijuana to a victim, who is a minor, between September 2021 and April 2022.

Police also learned that, in December 2021, the same man also supplied a substance believed to be cocaine to four victims, all of whom are minors.

On April 8 officers located and arrested Cody Alexander Secord, also known as “Cody Thompson” and charged him with:

  • Two counts of sexual assault on a person under 16
  • Two counts of sexual interference
  • Four counts of traffick in Schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Distribute cannabis to a individual under 18

Secord is currently in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.

The North Bay Police Service is concerned there may be additional victims who have not yet contacted them.
