Highway 63 fatal collision involved an SUV and road grader say police

OPP say that the fatal crash on Highway 63 yesterday morning involved an SUV and a grader.

Investigation revealed that a westbound SUV was in the eastbound lane and a grader was in the same lane when the two collided.

The driver of the SUV died in the vehicle and is awaiting a post-mortem examination scheduled for tomorrow.

The driver of the eastbound grader was examined by paramedics as a precautionary measure.

North Bay OPP re-opened Highway 63 shortly before 6 p.m. after closing it for over seven hours following the two-vehicle collision.   

The OPP's Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and the Office of the Chief Coroner- Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are assisting with the investigation.
