10 arrested in city police drug investigation

An investigation by the North Bay Police Service supported by the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario resulted in the arrest of ten individuals and the seizure of over $92,000-worth of illegal drugs

In 2024, the North Bay Police Service began an undercover investigation into drug trafficking and as a result, 10 people were arrested and charged between January 30 and February 4 this year.

Two accused persons remain wanted by police.

The investigations resulted in the seizure of:

  • 7 grams of crack cocaine
  • 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 597 grams of cocaine
  • 116 grams of fentanyl
  • 8 grams of methamphetamine pills
  • 113 hydromorphone pills
  • $13,300 in cash
  • Drug trafficking equipment

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $92,000.

Desiree Bomberry, female, 39, of Callander is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

Ashley Duresne, female, 42, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Produce a Schedule I substance

Christopher Durst, male, 54, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Produce a Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Zoe Gates-Healey, female, 26, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Kevin Grigsby-Squires, male, 52, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Produce Schedule I Substance

Jeffrey Sunstrum, male, 35, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Gilles Thibeault, male, 56, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

A 50-year-old unnamed male from North Bay is charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Eight counts of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Eight counts of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

A 32-year-old unnamed female from North Bay is charged with:

  • Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance

A 25-year-old unnamed female from North Bay is charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance

BayToday inquired why three suspects were unnamed. Police spokesman David Wooley replied, "The North Bay Police Service is not releasing the names of three of the accused in this incident. At this time, I cannot provide additional information beyond what is included in the media release."

Two more individuals are wanted by the police.

Kaleigh Dufresne, female, 31, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Produce a Schedule I substance

Kirsten Walker, female, 33, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Two counts of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
