Five arrested. $25,000 worth of Illegal drugs and guns seized

Police seized multiple weapons including a handgun capable of firing large ball bearings and a 12-gauge shotgun that had its barrel removed

North Bay police arrested three women and two men, all from North Bay yesterday, and seized a large haul of guns and drugs worth over $25,000.

As part of an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs, at 8:50 a.m. on February 27 officers from the Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Trout Lake Road. All five were in the residence and arrested. 

Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:

  • 95 grams of fentanyl
  • 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine
  • 42 suspected hydromorphone pills
  • 4 grams of cocaine
  • Four BB handguns
  • An air rifle
  • A knife that can be opened with centrifugal force, making it a prohibited weapon
  • .303 calibre rifle and accompanying ammunition
  • .22 calibre rifle and accompany ammunition
  • handgun capable of firing large ball bearings and accompanying ammunition
  • 12-gauge sawed off shotgun
  • $1,300 in cash

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $25,100.

Carley Gerling, 39, is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Careless storage of firearm
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Johanna Nelmapius, 43, is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

Dylan Wright, 28, is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

Neville Wright, 52, is charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

A 26-year-old female was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.

All were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
