North Bay police arrested three women and two men, all from North Bay yesterday, and seized a large haul of guns and drugs worth over $25,000.
As part of an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs, at 8:50 a.m. on February 27 officers from the Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Trout Lake Road. All five were in the residence and arrested.
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- 95 grams of fentanyl
- 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine
- 42 suspected hydromorphone pills
- 4 grams of cocaine
- Four BB handguns
- An air rifle
- A knife that can be opened with centrifugal force, making it a prohibited weapon
- .303 calibre rifle and accompanying ammunition
- .22 calibre rifle and accompany ammunition
- handgun capable of firing large ball bearings and accompanying ammunition
- 12-gauge sawed off shotgun
- $1,300 in cash
The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $25,100.
Carley Gerling, 39, is charged with:
- Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Careless storage of firearm
- Fail to comply with probation order
Johanna Nelmapius, 43, is charged with:
- Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Dylan Wright, 28, is charged with:
- Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Neville Wright, 52, is charged with:
- Four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
A 26-year-old female was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.
All were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
