$130,000 in illegal drugs off the street

Officers raided a hotel on McIntyre Street West in response to a 911 hang-up call

The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 19-year-old man for drug trafficking and seized approximately $130,000 in illegal drugs.

On Saturday, November 9, officers raided a hotel on McIntyre Street West in response to a 911 hang-up call. As part of the investigation, police searched a room in the hotel where the accused was. While there, police saw evidence of drug trafficking.

A search warrant was applied for, granted, and executed.

Police seized:

  • 373 grams of Fentanyl
  • 175 grams of cocaine
  • 20 5mg Percocet pills
  • Drug trafficking equipment
  • $2,500 in cash

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $130,000.

James Modimu, 19, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Modimu was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse
