Zach Major scored once and added two assists, and Anthony Boyes scored twice as the U16 AAA Trappers defeated the U16 AAA Sudbury Nickel Capitals 4-2 at Memorial Gardens on Sunday afternoon.
It was the first meeting for the two clubs since March 2020 when the Trappers were up 2-0 in the NOHA finals before COVID-19 shut down the season.
Caleb Dawson had the other tally on the power play where the Trappers netted three of their goals.
Kaleb Papineau and Mikey Purkhart split the goaltending duties in the win for the Trappers.
Braeden Viz and Nolan Newton had the other goals for the Nickel Capitals.
The Trappers, who will play in the Great North Midget League with the U18 AAA Trappers, will be back in action this Thursday as they travel to London to take part in the AAA Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament.
