Trappers earn weekend split

Trappers thump Cubs 6-0, then fall 5-1 to Majors.

The North Bay & District Midget AAA Trappers earned a weekend split after a pair of road games this weekend in New Liskeard and Timmins.  

On Saturday, Jack Drinkwalter had with the lone goal as the Trappers fell 5-1 to the Timmins Majors.

Brendan Dale suffered the loss in goal for the Trappers. 

However, Friday night the Trappers were on fire as they humbled the first place New Liskeard Cubs 6-0 in New Liskeard. 

2016 OHL Priority Selection draft prospect Dylan D’Agostino led the Trappers offensive charge with three goals while Jack Drinkwalter contributed with a pair. 

Blake Whitehead had the other Trappers goal on the power play in Friday’s win.  

Brendan Dale was credited with the shutout.  

The Trappers sit in third spot in the Great North Midget League with a 11-12-0-1 record. 

The Trappers finish off 2015 with a rare Tuesday night game against the Sudbury Minor Midget Wolves. Puck drop is set for 7:20 p.m. at West Ferris arena.
