The North Bay Assante -Thomson Financial Partners Minor Bantam Trappers hit the ice this past weekend for two games to battle the Timmins North Stars.
Game one saw the team tied at 1-1 after the first period off a goal from Thom Sefton with the lone assist going to Chase Thompson.
The speedy Trapper offense, combined with some puck luck would score 3 times in the second off the sticks of Caleb “Bubba” Shank, Carson Laronde (unassisted) and Chase Thompson with helpers going to Laronde and Kaedyn Long respectively.
The Trappers would add to their lead in the third period with Tristen Perry hitting the mark with a lone assist going to Thompson. Vaughn Thomson held the fort in goal for the 5-3 win.
Game two of the weekend would see the Trapper offense come to life in the second and third periods in a 6-0 win.
Kaedyn Long struck first with the eventual game winner with helpers going to Cooper Brazeau and Thom Sefton.
The Trapper would follow that up with goals from Chase Thompson and Justin Turgeon with assists going to Brazeau and Nolan Masson respectively.
The third period would prove much the same as Long would add his second of the game from Sefton and Masson.
Both Turgeon and Thompson would add their second goals of the game as well with Turgeon’s mark going unassisted and Justin Rousseau and Royce Rochefort chipping in on the Thompson strike.
Dylan Lemcke backstopped the Trappers for his first shutout of the season.
