This past weekend the North Bay Titans swim team hosted and competed in the Northeastern Developmental #2 meet at the YMCA. The meet was ran over two days and teams from Sudbury and area, Elliot Lake and Sault Ste. Marie were in attendance.
The Titans had an outstanding weekend on the blocks by swimming to 61% best times. Over 40 swims were swam by first time competitors from the team.
Ryan Tom, Jacob Brost, Steve Cholette, Dylan Clowater, Noelle Corazza, Joshua Gough, Katelynn Hitchcock, Sydney Hughes, Evan Kilroy, Alexis Mitchell, Ayden Ryk, Megan Tom, Katie Tripp, Jenna Wall, Megan Zhou and Regine Wyss all swam to first place finishes.
Those earning second place were Alexis Viczian, Quinn Schroeder, Connor Montgomery, Brody Marietti, Grace Liritzis, Sofia Berardi and Xander Barrett.
Third place ribbons belonged to Aurora Buckley, Sheldon Kilroy, Annika Lainevool, Jillian O'Donnell, Karly Saile, and Savanah Thibeault.
Due to air quality and ventilation problems in the pool area, the meet was delayed on Sunday morning. Even though events had to be cancelled due to this issue, that didn't stop the Titans from swimming their best.
Titans swimming to personal best times were Katelyn Warner, Gavin Wall, Drew Stephenson, Emma Ringette, Will Mitchell, Meadow Merrill, Olivia McCauley, Sheila MacDougall, Emma Lodge, Sarah Lepkan, Emilia Lainevool, Emma Rose Kehoe, Julie Jonescu, Chloe Hunt, Dalton Houlder, Jack Hachkowski, Olivia Gagnon, Will Fraser, Melody Farrell, Leah Dawson, MacKenzie Bedard, and Melanie Aiton.
The Titans next see action in the pool when a selected group of swimmers travel to Brantford, Ontario for Division II Team Championships the weekend of December 13-15.
