Saturday afternoon the Widdifield Wildcats defeated the Algonquin Barons by a score of 4-2. Bob Buckley and Cam Daniels lead the Cats with a goal and an assist each, while Jared Yeates and Rob Stewart also tallied for Widdifield. Riley Desjardins had both goals for the Barons and Ozzy Kirkby contributed two helpers.

The first game of Sunday's doubleheader saw the West Ferris Trojans edge the Barons 3-2 in a very closely matched game. West Ferris' Cam Walters was in on all three Trojan goals, scoring two and assisting on the other. Cole Goddard also scored for West Ferris.  Brock Ledoux and Cole Chasse replied for Algonquin.

The second half of the doubleheader had Widdifield and Chippewa meet for the second time this season.  In the season opener, the two teams battled to a 3-3 draw and once again on Sunday, both teams had to settle for the single point in a very tight checking, entertaining 1-1 tie. The Wildcats Troy McLuhan and the Raiders Will Petrie exchanged power-play goals and that was all both teams could muster offensively as both Nate Howes of Chippewa and Scott Bazinet were solid in their respective nets.

Double header action resumes Wednesday evening at Sam Jacks arena. At 6 pm the Trojans take on the Wildcats and the Raiders and Barons tangle at 7:30pm.

More High School Hockey action can be seen this Thursday-Saturday as the NDA hosts its 43rd Annual Tournament at both Memorial Gardens and Sam Jacks Arena.
