For young athletes interested in developing greater strength, speed, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness, the North Bay Norsemen weightlifting team is again offering its summer sport conditioning camps.

The Youth Sport Conditioning Camp , for girls and boys 11 to 13 years of age (born 1992-1995), is held at the Trojan Alumni Complex at West Ferris Secondary School. The camp, in its ninth year of operation, runs Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon. It is scheduled for eight weeks, starting on July 4 and ending on August 25. The camp director is Melody Ogletree; the speed and agility coach is track star, Adam Newton.

Athletes 14 years and older ( born 1991 and before) can take part in “Sportsforce” . This camp, which has run for 12 years, uses the Athletic Performance Centre at the YMCA as its headquarters. As with the Youth Conditioning Camp, it too runs from July 4 to August 25. Participants have a choice between morning or evening workout sessions. Larry Sheppard and Glenn Ogletree oversee all aspects of the program.

For brochures or more information call Larry Sheppard at 476-7577 or Melody Ogletree at 475-6018.
