Period poverty is a reality for many in our community, but together, we can make a difference. United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario, in partnership with the North Bay & District Labour Council is proud to launch Period Promise (formerly Tampon Tuesday).

We invite individuals, businesses, and organizations to take action by holding collection drives or donating period products at our Period Promise Event, happening on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Gateway City Brewery, 490 Gormanville Road.

Menstrual products are not a luxury—they are a necessity. Yet, too many people are forced to choose between purchasing period supplies or other basic essentials. This campaign aims to raise awareness and provide support to those who need it most.

How You Can Help:

  • Organize a collection drive at your workplace, school, or community group.
  • Drop off unopened packages of pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and liners at our event.
  • Spread the word on social media using #PeriodPromise.

“Period poverty is an issue that impacts education, employment, and overall dignity,” says Tamika Daniels, Nipissing Engagement Coordinator at United Way. “Through the Period Promise campaign, we can help ensure no one in our community goes without the products they need.”

Join us at Gateway City Brewery on March 6 for an evening of community engagement and action. Together, we can break the stigma and support those in need.
