Huntsville OPP were dispatched at 10:40 a.m., February 24, to a report of a snowmobile crash on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail D101B, which is northwest of highway 60, in the area of Oxtongue Lake, Township of Lake of Bays..
At the scene, they found an injured female who was operating a snowmobile that had left the trail and struck a tree. The 60-year-old woman was taken by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with life-altering injuries.
Huntsville OPP officers and Central Region OPP, Snowmobile ATV Vessel Enforcement Unit (SAVE) accompanied by emergency services, attended the scene.
