The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, the Municipality of West Nipissing and the West Nipissing General Hospital’s Alliance Centre plans for the launch of a community sharps bin.

"When used sharps are discarded improperly, such as in recycling, garbage or even in a public place, it is often the result of not having a place to properly dispose of them," says a Health Unit news release. "Providing a place for people to safely discard sharps helps keep the community safer for everyone."

The launch takes place on January 10, at 11:30 a.m. on the corner of Main and Queen St., Sturgeon Falls with opening remarks by Katharine O’Connell, Community Health Promoter, Health Unit.
