The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police is encouraging residents to attend an upcoming anti-fraud presentation hosted by the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC). The event will take place on March 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. upstairs at the East Ferris Community Centre.
The presentation will provide valuable information on how to recognize, prevent, and report fraud.
Topics will include:
- An overview of the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and its role
- The most common solicitation methods used by fraudsters
- The tools and tactics criminals use to deceive victims
- A breakdown of the top scams affecting Canadians today
- Steps to take if you suspect fraud or become a victim
Attendees will also receive educational handouts with tips and resources to help protect themselves and their communities from fraud.
Fraud and cybercrime continue to evolve, targeting individuals, businesses, and organizations. The OPP and CAFC urge the public to stay informed and vigilant against financial crimes.
