$130,000 will go to three new Seniors Active Living Centres in the district to help improve seniors’ quality of life and build community engagement.
“These new Senior Active Living Centres will be a great addition for our seniors,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “They’ll offer seniors from the entire community the opportunity to stay fit, active, healthy, and socially connected through various activities.”
- $50,000 for Canadore College’s The Village Community Hub for an innovative model focused on inter-professional, inter-cultural and intergenerational education that supports healthy aging
- $50,000 for Les Compagnons Les jeunes de coeur à North Bay/Young at Heart in North Bay program offering an adapted and inclusive season of artistic, cultural, leisure and sports activities for elderly people
- $30,000 for Powassan’s Seniors in Action Program will provide appropriate and accessible opportunities for recreation, education and social connection to encourage seniors to be actively involved, healthy, productive and contributing members of the community.
