Youth amongst four charged in January home invasion

Powassan OPP and members of the North Bay and Bracebridge (OPP) Crime Units have concluded an investigation into a home invasion that occurred in Chisholm Township shortly after New Years.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday January 2nd 2007, four (4) subjects armed with baseball bats and balaclavas entered a Fosmill Road residence, Chisholm Township, and committed a robbery.

The following subjects have been arrested and charged:

- Jonathan NICHOLSON (24 years old) of Kirkfield, Ontario

- Pieter VANDENBROEK (24 years old) of Ramara Township near Orillia

- James VANDENBROEK (20 years old) of Ramara Township

- A 17 year old “Young Person” who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act

CHARGES:

- Break, enter with intent

- Disguise with intent

- Robbery

- Forcible confinement

- Assault with weapon

- Mischief endangering life

- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

This incident is not believed to be random in nature. All subjects will be appearing at the North Court House within the month of March.
