Weather advisory issued for:
Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls, Ont.
Kirkland Lake - Temiskaming Shores - Temagami, Ont.
North Bay - West Nipissing, Ont.
Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Thursday.
Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Timing:
Thursday near noon to Thursday night.
Discussion:
Snow, at times heavy, will begin Thursday near noon and persist into the evening. Northwest winds will increase in the evening with gusts up to 60 km/h leading to localized blowing snow Thursday evening and overnight.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
