North Bay OPP have charged a Deep River man with Possession of Cannabis on Thursday, April 17th, 2008, as a result of a traffic stop on Highway 17 just west of North Bay in Commanda Township.
The OPP officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 when he observed the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. Upon further investigation, the male driver was found to be in possession of cannabis and a substantial amount of cash.
As a result, Rodger Frederick GUST, 22 years old, of Deep River, Ontario was charged with Possession of Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – Over 30 grams and with CDSA 5(1)(i) Trafficking Schedule II - Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms. Both charges are contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act and GUST is to appear in court on June 10th, 2008.
