Thief doesn't learn his lesson. Caught twice, arrested twice within two days

City police say they have a North Bay man in custody, after arresting him twice in two days for different break-ins.

At 3:10 a.m. on December 30, 2021, officers responded to a break and enter at a home on Lakeshore Drive. While on the victim’s property, the thief tried unsuccessfully to enter the residence say police in a news release.

He was found and arrested a short distance away.

The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse and was let go on a Release Order.

Then, at 1:40 a.m. on January 1, police responded to another break and enter at a house on Labreche Drive, also in the Ferris area.

A thief had entered the residence through an exterior door. After being confronted by an occupant, he fled.

Again, officers arrested a man outside, a short distance from the residence.

Police say, In both instances, the victim and accused were not known to one another.

David Ellis Harvey New 52,  is charged with:

  • Two counts of break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Two counts of trespassing at night
  • Failure to comply with his release order

New is currently in custody awaiting another bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
