On Saturday the 8th of Sept during the early morning hours it is alleged that two men burst into the home of another man in the 2100 block of Trout Lake Rd.

At this time it is further alleged that these two men had golf clubs and began striking the victim with same, all the while demanding money.

At one point the victim began resisting and was stabbed in various parts of his body with an exacto knife by one of these men.

The two assailants then fled with an undisclosed sum of cash stolen from the victim.

Det. Cst. Jody deHaas of the North Bay Police began to investigate the incident and later that morning at approximately 11 AM Cst. Peter Brunette of this Service arrested a man in relation to this matter.

Steven BIRD 43 years old of No Fixed Address is charged with Assault With a Weapon, Robbery With Violence and Disguise With Intent. He was kept in custody for a bail hearing.

The victim received cuts and bruising to various parts of his face and body.

The investigation continues.
