Organizers report a good turnout of people dropping off donated items in support of the Backpacks of Love this past Saturday.
Once the items were sorted and counted, the committee put the items into backpacks to be distributed to the homeless in North Bay.

They should know In the next day or two, how many backpacks they have been able to put together with their first drop-off day.
Another is planned with a specific list of items needed.
"For instance, we were able to obtain 200 of some items but only one of other items," stated Leah Pierce, Chairperson of the Compassionate Committee for the Homeless.
The next community drop-off day will be Saturday, July 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 46 Joseph Street.
The "Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay" is a conduit between existing support services and organizations that address the immediate needs of the near homeless and homeless, and the various church parishes and congregations, according to the group's Facebook page.

feminine hygiene products
socks (3 pairs light, 3 pairs heavy)

rain ponchos
sun hats/ball caps
cream bug repellent
cream sunscreen
toothpaste
towelettes/wipes
