TEMAGAMI, Ont. — The body of a snowmobiler who went missing Monday has been found.
The 82-year-old snowmobile driver was reported missing after failing to return home on Jan. 6, said Temiskaming OPP.
The OPP's aviation unit, emergency response team, and underwater search and recovery unit were involved in the search. The body of the snowmobiler, who was from Temagami, was found on Jan. 7.
"The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-FPS)," said police in a news release.
"OPP reminds anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to carefully evaluate ice conditions before heading out onto the ice as conditions can change rapidly."
