A search warrant at a residence on Lakeshore Drive resulted in the arrest of a man and woman, both from North Bay, for drug and weapons offenses.
As part of an investigation yesterday, the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit, North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team and the Ontario Provincial Police’s Tactics and Rescue Unit executed the warrant.
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- A 3D-printed handgun receiver
- 14 grams of suspected fentanyl
- A BB handgun
- A machete-style knife
- A bullet-proof vest
- Drug trafficking equipment
The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $3,500.
The North Bay Police Service arrested two people for drug trafficking and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Jason Laperriere, 38, is charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Four counts of breach of a firearm prohibition order
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
Samantha King, 36, is charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
The pair were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
