Snowfall warning continues (update)

A Major winter storm with the centre over southern Lake Huron at 3 PM will continue to move eastward. Snow heavy at times has been falling over the warned regions and is expected to taper to flurries or light snow this evening. Snow could be briefly mixed with ice pellets early this evening in the North Bay - West Nipissing region.

Snowfall amounts are expected to be between 15 to 25 centimetres for the duration of the event.

Additionally..Strong and gusty northeasterly winds could result in some local blowing and drifting snow producing near zero visibilities.

Environment Canada continues to monitor this developing situation.
