The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) released the current snow pack information for the North Bay area today as part of the NBMCA's Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.

"Snow levels are beginning to normalize for this time of year," comments Brian Tayler, General Manager, North Bay - Mattawa Conservation Authority. "However, we will continue to keep a close watch on the ice jams that occurred in some of the region's waterways as a result of warmer weather and a brief melt."

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and spring of 2009. Area residents and visitors are reminded that uniform ice thickness on area waterbodies should not be assumed. The public is advised to use extreme caution near areas of flowing water.
