The North Bay Police Service is investigating the discovery of a second ATM skimmer this month.

A bank customer allerted police Friday after noticing
suspicious behaviour from a male at the ATM located at the SCOTIABANK on Main Street W.

Cst. Joe Whitehead and Cst. Ross Lingley of the North Bay Police Service went to this location and seized a skimming machine within the façade of the ATM.

The plastic cover for the fluorescent light had a small pinhole within it. This cover was removed and the officers discovered a pinhole camera, with battery pack and an electronic receiver/transmitter inside.

The description of this suspicious male is male white, tall, in his forties. He spoke with a European accent and wore a long dark coat and a blue and grey toque.

A local SCOTIABANK official declined comment, other than to say the branch was taking measures "to make sure this doesn't happen again."

Two weeks ago a North Bay man using a downtown Bank of Montreal bank machine helped police uncover a skimming device.
