Friends of La Vase Portages will be hosting a canoe evening with well known canoeing author and adventurer Hap Wilson, Friday, May 2, 7:00 p.m. at the Nipissing University Theater.

Hap Wilson, a former ranger in Lake Temagami area, has written numerous books on major canoe routes across Canada but is probably best known for his writing on the Temagami Canoe Routes and the Missinaibi River.

A brief update on the year’s activities of the Friends of La Vase Portages will start at 7:00 p.m. followed by Hap's presentation of his canoeing stories and images of Canada.

Chris Mayne will show an additional slide show of a 2007 trip on the Nahanni River for anyone interested at 6:00 p.m. For more details please go to www.lavaseportages.com "
