OPP looking for Communications Operators

The Ontario Provincial Police is taking applications for anyone interested in becoming a communications operator out of the Provincial Communications Centre North Bay.  

"Communications Operators play an integral role in keeping communities safe by providing life-saving assistance to individuals in crisis, and by dispatching calls to frontline Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers," the OPP stated in a release.  

"If you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference each and every day, why not consider a career with the Provincial Communications Centre North Bay (PCCNB)?"  

The PCCNB is seeking applications from English and bilingual applicants.

Members of the public who are interested in finding out more about career opportunities as a Communications Operator with the OPP are invited to attend an information session which will take place on January 10, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the PCC North Bay at 877 Gormanville Road. 

Registration via Eventbrite is required in order to attend. for the 2 p.m. session click HERE and for the 7 p.m. session click HERE. Those attending need to have government-issued photo identification to access the building. 

Representatives from the PCCNB and PCC Recruitment will provide information about employment opportunities and the application process for Communication Operator roles.

The communication centre operates 24-hours per day, seven days per week to answer 911 emergency and non-emergency calls for service and to dispatch officers. Communications Operators work in a fast-paced environment where speed and accuracy are critical in urgent and sometimes life-threatening emergencies.
