LETTER: Harsh measures suggested to reduce Highway 11/17 carnage

To the editor:

Training will do nothing to curtail the manslaughter that is happening.

The only way to stop the carnage is to set up lights all along Highway 11/17 every 20 kms. When the lights are activated there is no passing allowed for anyone, cars, or trucks, no matter what.

The speed limit is set at 80 kph. No tailgating.

Transponder installed on trucks. Anyone breaking the speed limit gets automatic $1,000 fine. Three strikes and no longer able to use 11/17.
