OPP charges driver in triple-fatal weekend collision

The driver is facing multiple counts of dangerous operation causing death and operation while impaired causing death

SEGUIN, Ont. — The Ontario Provincial Police laid multiple charges against the driver involved in a serious collision late Saturday evening.

As a result of the investigation, West Parry Sound OPP charged Jogpreet Singh, 23, of Kingston, Ont., with:

  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
  • Dangerous operation causing death - three counts
  • Operation while impaired causing bodily harm
  • Operation while impaired causing death - three counts

On July 20, 2024, shortly after 11 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP, Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services and Seguin Township Fire Department responded to a single-motor vehicle collision on Tally Ho-Swords Road in the Township of Seguin.

The crash scene is approximately 30 kilometres east of Parry Sound and 160 kilometres southwest of North Bay.

West Parry Sound OPP, with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) team and the West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit, continue to investigate the collision in which three people have died, and one person was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Parry Sound Ontario Court of Justice on July 22, 2024.
