A small metal lockbox, which was discovered on the ice and in shallow waters at the Birchaven Cove of Trout Lake on April 16th, containing jewellery and personal papers, has been identified as the former property of a local couple that have been deceased for over 10 years. This property was in the possession of the niece of Alice Crogan, the current owner of this property.

They are the Executors of the Croghan’s wills and were unaware of the contents of the box that was in their possession with other property of the deceased.

They had returned from winter vacation in the south, April 16, 2008 to discover their residence on Prince Edward Drive had been broken into between April 12th & 14th, 2008.

This Metal box was part of their property, and believed to have been stolen at the time of the Break & Enter. All property has been returned to the rightful owners. No suspects have yet been identified as being responsible for the Break & Enter on Prince Edward Drive.
