Motor vehicle collisions result in impaired charge

Cst. Gerry Martin of the North Bay Police received information about a possible Impaired Driver in the area of the 300 Block Lakeshore Drive during the early evening December 10.

A short time later he received information about a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the 1000 Block of Lakeshore Drive, as well as a 2nd MVC on Algonquin Avenue involving the same vehicle. This vehicle was then observed driving onto McKenzie Court in North Bay. The vehicle was stopped and officers found the driver to be intoxicated.

Andrew McDowell, 25 years, of McKenzie CRT in North Bay was arrested and is charged with Impaired Driving & Drive with over 80 mgs alcohol, as well as two charges of Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident.

He was released with a court date of Jan 22, 2008.
