Most of the North Bay Snowmobile Club trails are OPEN!

This is great news for the economy of North Bay too, as snowmobiling gives a very important boost to many businesses and employees in the area and across the north.

"Considering that it was 11 degrees and green grass on Christmas Day," Shawn Flindall, Public Relations with the North Bay Snowmobile Club says "We are very happy to announce that most of the North Bay Snowmobile Club trails are open!"

It is early season conditions, and “Snowmobile Safety Week” so the trails are listed as “LIMITED” - which means “ride with caution” as trails are not anywhere near perfect.

"There are lots of rocks and stumps still exposed and the lack of snow is leaving us very little to work with to fill in holes and smooth the trail out. Active logging and hydro operations are scattered throughout the trails in the area as well. However, we are very pleased to have the majority of our trails open and in relatively good shape! If the snow forecasted for next week materializes, we should be able to move our trails from yellow (limited) to green (fully open)."
