On April 15, 2010, 40 individuals were recognized at the inaugural 40 Under Forty event for being outstanding, up and coming leaders in the North Bay and Nipissing area.
The event was presented by Patricia Mills, Publisher of Northern Ontario Business and co-hosted by Mayor Vic Fedeli, Mayor of North Bay and Kimberley Wahamaa, Event Manager of Northern Ontario Business.
“The first 40 Under Forty event in North Bay was an enormous success. All of the award recipients were acknowledged for their achievements, contributions, and leadership,” said Patricia Mills. “There were a wide variety of award winners, each individual added to the awards in a unique way. It was a great celebration for all of the exceptional people in the communities of the North Bay and Nipissing area.”
The 40 Under Forty event is a celebration for all individuals under the age of 40, who bring a great deal of contribution to the North Bay and Nipissing area. This can be through volunteering, personal success, entrepreneurship, leadership and community building. The background of each award winner is different and adds to the community in a positive way. The event is to recognize the achievements of the future leaders.
Vic Fedeli, Mayor of North Bay, said, “This was a great occasion to recognize the future of North Bay. It allows everyone to see the leadership in the community and the future of what each of these individuals will bring. It was an honour to be a part of it.”
