On Thursday April 24, a male attended Police Headquarters in North Bay, complaining of being assaulted and threatened with death. Police took a statement and the 55-year-old male then attended hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

At 1600-hrs (4pm) April 25th the same accused male attended the victims room with a large stick of wood, and again threatened the victim with death. Others in the rooming house again intervened and stopped the assault. The victim again attend the Police Station and complained. Police attended the rooming house and arrested a 38-year-old male for assault and at the time discovered a quantity of marihuana on his person.

Michael James Reid of Fourth Ave E. is charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, 2-counts of Threatening, Breach of Probation, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The accused person is being held for a bail hearing.
