A trespass to property complaint in Temiskaming Shores led to the seizure of firearms and drugs, and dozens of charges against two people.
Just before 10 p.m. on March 7, Temiskaming OPP was called to an Elliot Street residence for a trespassing complaint.
Officers located and arrested two suspects who were allegedly trespassing. During the arrest, police seized two loaded guns, suspected fentanyl and cocaine with an estimated street value of $23,000, and cash.
Two people have been charged.
Dream Anwhatin, 25, from Temiskaming Shores is charged with:
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts of occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Three counts of occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Two counts of possession of firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Failure to comply with release order
Solomon Salik, 30, from Toronto is charged with:
- Two counts careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts of occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Three counts of occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition
- Two counts of possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Two counts of possession of firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin)
- Four counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
The accused are in police custody waiting for a bail hearing on March 10.
