Library in receipt of two rare caches of Quints' material

Over the past 3 months the North Bay Public Library has received two rare caches of Dionne Quints material in the mail.

The first cache is from the Peninsula Library’s Historical Society in Ohio. As they note in their letter, the Quints material was found in an old closet. It appears to have been place there in 1935 and not moved until this year. The cache consists of magazines with articles about the Quints and a collection of newspaper articles and supplements from Ohio newspapers. This 70 year old material is in mint condition.

The second collection is from the estate of Leona Dubeau who was nurse to the girls in 1940. This collection is made up of photographs of the Quints with Ms. Dubeau, advertising material, personal notes and other unique items.

The Library is very pleased to add these materials to our local history collection. A display of some of these items will be presented in October at the Library.
